A medieval Tafl-family game from Schleswig-Holstein. The 10x10 board is divided into three regions: four 4x4 "castles" at the corners (purple), a two-square-wide cross of open ground connecting them, and a central 2x2 "holy area" (gold). Crossing one of these boundaries mid-move is called crossing a "deflection line." Each side has 2 Galas (Kings), 5 Kornas ("berserk warriors"), 5 Horsas ("mounted warriors"), and 8 Kampas ("warriors"). A Kampa inside its own home castle may only step one square diagonally toward the centre (two on its very first move); outside its home castle it moves one square in any direction like a King (reverting to diagonal-only if it returns home). A Korna moves like a Rook inside a castle and like a Bishop in the open cross/centre regions; on a move that crosses a boundary it may combine both — an unlimited diagonal continuation if the crossing happens on its very first step, or just one extra diagonal square otherwise. A Horsa is the mirror image (Bishop in castles, Rook outside). Kornas and Horsas may only capture on a move that crosses a boundary. A Gala moves one square in any direction like a King, but may only capture on a move that also crosses a boundary. Kornas and Horsas may not stop in the holy area (though they may pass through it); Kampas and Galas may enter it freely.

Victory: placing both of your Galas in the holy area at once is a "great victory." Eliminating both enemy Galas while you still have one in the holy area is a "minor victory." If both sides run out of Galas, it's a draw.

(The precise historical arrangement of pieces within each castle wasn't available in the text sources consulted, so the layout here is a symmetric best-effort reconstruction that preserves the documented army composition — 2 Gala / 5 Korna / 5 Horsa / 8 Kampa per side — exactly.)
